Dr. Amanda Jenkins has been practicing at MiraCare Neuro Behavioral since 2012. She provides holistic emotional and behavioral outpatient services to children, adolescents, and adults. Her approach to treating emotional and behavioral change begins with the therapeutic relationship which models healthy interpersonal connections, self-awareness, and psychological flexibility. Dr. Jenkins believes in utilizing one’s strengths to help build resiliency, insight, and self-respect. To her, the relationship also provides encouragement and safety so one can experience each moment as an opportunity rather than another given moment to experience pain and suffering.
Additionally, Dr. Jenkins is on the training team of the MiraCare’s APA accredited internship program and serves as a testing supervisor for both interns and post-doctoral fellows at the testing center. Psychological testing is an asset to the practice which allows clinicians to maximize their understanding of their patients so a thorough treatment plan can be embraced.
Dr. Jenkins is also married and has two young children. She loves music, movies, and spending time with her loved ones. She also enjoys getting in touch with her creative side which includes decorating her home, baking, writing poems, making cards, or simply doodling with a box of crayons.
