Dr. Cynthia Rangel has been practicing at MiraCare Neuro Behavioral Health since 2013 and has been working clinically since 2010. She considers herself to be a generalist and has a broad range of experience working therapeutically with children, adolescents, and adults with diverse clinical concerns. She also has experience working in a variety of clinical settings, including private practice, college counseling, and community mental health. Dr. Rangel believes in incorporating a holistic and multidisciplinary approach in her clinical work, and thus works closely with the treatment team. This includes coordinating with psychiatrists, schools, other providers, etc. and incorporating psychological assessment. Additionally, Dr. Rangel became interested in neurofeedback and biofeedback in 2014 due to a belief in mind-body awareness and the impact this connection has on healing, and as a result, she became Board Certified in Neurofeedback in 2019. Dr. Rangel’s typical therapeutic approach is culturally-informed, cognitive behavioral, insight-oriented, relationally psychodynamic, and draws on other modalities as needed. When working with children, she works from a play therapy approach tailoring specific interventions to the patient’s needs while incorporating parents as well. Dr. Rangel believes a strong therapeutic alliance is the foundation of treatment and intervention, and thereby provides a safe and supportive space for her patients to lead their journey of healing. In addition to providing individual therapy and psychoneurotherapy to patients, Dr. Rangel is also passionate about training new psychologists, and is an individual therapy supervisor, group supervisor, and member of the training committee for our APA-approved internship program.
In her personal life, Dr. Rangel enjoys spending time with her family, baking, being active, and trying new things.
