Kevin has worked at MiraCare (Palos Behavioral Health) since August 2020 as a psychology intern. He has worked with individuals with a wide range of racial and ethnic identities, gender identities, and sexual orientations. He also has experience working with adults and children, providing individual therapy, group therapy, and play therapy. He has worked primarily with people seeking help to manage symptoms of inattention, depression, anxiety, and trauma.

Kevin is primarily grounded in the Rogerian belief that each person is the expert in their own experience and has a tendency toward actualizing their ideal self. Many people get stuck along the way as they encounter roadblocks and develop interpretations of their experiences that are misaligned with their deepest yearnings for themselves. Kevin approaches his clinical work by helping people articulate their inner experiences to gain a better understanding of where they are now and what hidden conflicts might lie within. He primarily utilizes facets of client-centered therapy, third-wave CBT interventions, and other experiential interventions to facilitate accessing unclear experiences to increase understanding of important meanings. Kevin also utilizes play therapy techniques to help children process their emotional experiences in their natural language: play.

Roles at the practice: I am a psychology intern at the practice, and I provide therapy services on Mondays and Thursdays and psychological assessment services on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I see patients for therapy both in-person and through telehealth when it is necessary and clinically indicated.
