Matus is a Doctoral Intern conducting Acute and Outpatient therapy services at MiraCare. He is currently in the final year of his doctoral degree in clinical psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Matus has experience working with a diverse population of people across the lifespan in a variety of settings, including a neuropsychological testing center, a psychiatric hospital with outpatient, IOP and PHP setting, a headache clinic and a private practice for ongoing long-term therapy. He has experience in conducting neuropsychogical testing as well as therapy with people across the lifespan and all walks of life. Matus strives to provide an empathetic therapeutic space based in building trust, a genuine connection and a judgement free supportive environment. He utilizes an integrative approach leveraging the therapeutic relationship to tailor each session to the unique needs of each individual by drawing from a variety of treatment modalities from multiple disciplines. Matus trusts that people are the expert of their own unique lived experience and strives to collaborate leverage this expertise to foster positive growth, self- empowerment, and self-love. Matus feels honored and committed to contribute in his patients’ journey of creating a full and meaningful live.
In his spare time, Matus enjoys spending time with his family and friends. In addition, he enjoys reading, working out, playing video games and cooking.
