Shasheena Polk is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), who obtained her Master’s in Counseling Psychology with a concentration of children and adolescents in 2017. She has worked as a Substitute Teacher, Therapeutic Mentor for foster children, and Therapist at a Therapeutic Day School. She has also worked as a behavioral therapist for autistic children, adolescents, and adults. She has led various groups involving children and adolescents. She has worked as a child and adolescent therapist at a mental health hospital. She also worked as a psychometrician conducting various neuropsychological and psychological assessments. She is currently pursuing her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology. She earned a second Master’s Degree in 2020 along the way of working towards her doctorate. 

Shasheena loves working with children and adolescents. She has a niche to getting children and adolescents to engage in therapy. She is skilled at treating various emotional and behavioral difficulties, such as Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, grief & loss, anger and aggression, adjustment issues, suicidal thoughts or behaviors, self-injury, and school challenges. Shasheena uses a cognitive behavioral approach in treatment. She believes each individual is different and tailors’ treatment as such. She also enjoys neuropsychological and psychological assessments. She desires to use the findings in assessments to aid in therapeutic treatment.
