Amy Sczepanik is a clinical psychology doctoral student studying at Adler University in Chicago, IL. She is doing her doctoral internship at MiraCare working with children, adolescents, adults, parents, and families. She has experience working in private practice providing individual, group, and family therapy, as well as psychological testing. She has supported clients experiencing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, chronic pain, life transitions, emotional and behavioral challenges, and identity-related concerns.
Amy’s therapeutic approach is grounded in behavioral modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), while thoughtfully integrating family systems and play-based approaches to best serve the patient’s needs. She values creating a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental therapeutic relationship where clients feel heard, understood, and supported. Amy believes in meeting clients where they are and tailoring treatment to help them build on their strengths and work toward meaningful, individualized goals.
Outside of her clinical work, Amy enjoys watching movies, going to concerts, baking, crafting, and spending time with family, friends, and her cats.
