Dr. Cashen is the Clinical Coordinator for the Mokena location and has been a part of MiraCare since 2008. Prior to this, he had experience working with a wide variety of ages and treatment populations in community mental health, college counseling, private practice, and hospital settings. Throughout these opportunities, he developed a treatment philosophy centered on building empowerment in clients, identifying underlying trauma contributing to internalizing and externalizing emotional and behavioral struggles, and employing unique strategies to relationally-connect with even the most challenging of adolescent clients, while also successfully rebuilding struggling and distant family relationships. Dr. Cashen’s atypical and innovative approach to challenging treatments often results in breakthroughs with clients who have struggled to achieve successful outcomes in previous therapy experiences utilizing more traditional methods.
