Dr. Mikulecky began her clinical career in 2013 at MiraCare Neuro Behavioral Health as a Clinical Psychology Doctoral Intern and has remained part of the practice, noting the collaborative and team approach to treatment that strongly resonates with her methods of care. She subsequently completed an intensive certification process in Somatic Experiencing® in 2019 that she integrates with her psychotherapy training. Dr. Mikulecky embraces a holistic approach to patient care that considers mind/body, institutional, communal, societal, and intergenerational influences.

Inspired and guided by the understanding that our bodies intrinsically develop strategies for self-protection, Dr. Mikulecky primarily supports adolescents and adults using culturally-affirming somatic, insight-oriented, and cognitive-based therapies. This allows her to adaptively address developmental, relational, medical, and psychodynamic issues and trauma with adolescents, adults, and families in an atmosphere of safety, inclusivity, and curiosity while promoting resiliency

Dr. Mikulecky engages in activities to continually learn, including challenging her considerations for how her identity, culture, and privilege have shaped her experiences, which in turn impacts her therapeutic work. She is also an Assistant with Somatic Experiencing International.

At MiraCare, in addition to her psychotherapy services, Dr. Mikulecky serves as one of the Clinical Directors of the Outpatient Care division, with a focus on the psychological and neuropsychological testing services. She is also a Training Director for the APA-accredited Clinical Psychology Doctoral Internship. She places incredible value in working with both clinical psychology interns and post-doctoral fellows in a supervisory capacity.

Dr. Mikulecky enjoys spending time laughing with friends and family; playing with her Bernese Mountain Dog; cheering on her Wisconsin sports teams; traveling to familiar and new destinations; and yoga.
