Matus is a Postdoctoral Fellow providing Outpatient therapy services at MiraCare Behavioral Health. He completed his doctoral degree in clinical psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and is currently in the postdoctoral phase of his career. Matus has extensive experience working with a diverse population across the lifespan in a variety of settings, including a neuropsychological testing center, a psychiatric hospital with outpatient, inpatient and PHP programs, and a private practice for ongoing long-term therapy. Additionally, Matus gained valuable experience at the nation’s leading headache and migraine care facility, where he worked in a multidisciplinary setting to support patients dealing with chronic pain. He has also served as a Research Coordinator at one of the largest Alzheimer’s research facilities in the Midwest, contributing to groundbreaking studies to better understand and treat this challenging condition.
Matus is dedicated to creating an empathetic, collaborative therapeutic space, where trust, genuine connection, and a judgment-free environment are central. He utilizes an integrative approach, leveraging the therapeutic relationship to tailor each session to the individual’s unique needs, drawing from various treatment modalities across multiple disciplines. Matus believes that people are the experts of their own lived experiences and works to harness this expertise to foster growth, self-empowerment, and self-love. He feels honored to support his patients in their journey toward creating fulfilling and meaningful lives.
In his spare time, Matus enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring and traveling to new places, reading, working out, playing video games, and cooking.
